US Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet jet crashes in California, Pilot safe

A US Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 9 out of Naval Air Weapons Station crashed in California Monday afternoon, Officials stated Tuesday that the pilot had minor injuries that did not necessitate a hospital stay.

The mishap took place in Death Valley National Park at about 3 p.m. local time.

There were no civilians injured as a result of this incident. The plane went down in a remote area of Death Valley National Park in southern California.

The US Navy is now investigating the event and is fully cooperating with local authorities, US Navy said is official press release.

Last year, a US Navy F/A-18F was also crashed in California on 18 October.
